New USA Tariffs Affecting Delivery
This message is intended to inform customers of a current issue. It is not a comment on the politics of any country or individual.
This is also not an apology. I have not done this, this is not my decision, I have nothing to apologise for.
Recently new tariffs have been introduced on products entering the USA. Americans who wish to import products from Thailand have to pay a 19% tariff to do so.
This has caused many postal and shipping companies, all over the world, to stop shipping to the USA.
Currently the only shipping provider in Thailand that still ships to the USA is DHL. This is however very expensive.
Normally shipping can be done at my local post office which is easy walking distance from my place. However the post office that handles DHL is some distance away.
My most purchased item used to cost 4oo Thai Bhat to ship. $12.30*. That is 8-21 days delivery. This would take me 15 minutes total.
DHL charge 2,070 Thai Bhat. $63.70*. 3 day delivery (this may be more with the current situation). This takes over an hour to complete. Plus there are travel expenses to and from the post office that handles DHL.
I do not know if this fee includes the tariff, you may be asked to pay this by your government.
I shall not shoulder ANY of these expenses from my own pocket.
Therefore I am currently charging 2,440 Thai Bhat for shipping to the USA. This includes shipping charge, travel expenses and my processing time.
I agree this is extremely expensive. I would not pay this if I were in your position.
Currently I advise customers in the USA to wait to buy my products until Thailand Post resume service to the USA. This situation can not last long.
This situation has already had a noticeable effect on my income. A large percentage of my business is with the USA. I am as keen as anyone to be able to provide affordable and convenient shipping to the USA again.
